This is chapter 2 of The Vineyard Years Podcast. Recollection can sometimes be faulty and there is a correction statement explaining the true origin of the vineyard. For the sadists among you it details more reasons not to be cheerful and why nobody in their right mind would plant a vineyard where we have. It also describes some of our early preparations.

Thankyou Peter for making the vineyard podcast easy to play from the homepage. I didn’t yet get one about the other podcast you mention, which I hope will come either in the same system or with instructions where to go to get it!
I find it a bit sad that you seem to think you ought to find something more in retirement. You seem to be doing well, although maybe this is because you ponder on whether to find more to do? In the meantime before you find more to do, and possibly abandon your normal blog, I’m very much enjoying, and looking forward to, your current blog – so I hope that doesn’t get replaced by whatever you find new.
I’ve found over the years that people who say “I ought…” don’t really want to! So in retirement, why ought we to!
I’ve been retired only 9 years, and things just seem to ‘fall into my lap’, Which might mean I’m slowing down, but even if that’s so, I consider it doesn’t matter.
Thanks Peter.
You’re right I shouldn’t (that word) find my retirement unsatisfactory. I need a damn good talking to. Hope you like the podcast, 2 episodes so far, and there’s no danger I will stop writing the blog, that’s what I think I ‘am’ not a broadcaster that’s just my friends’s idea!
