What you might call a bonus blog, then again, treesyou might not. Mrs Summerhouse and I met at art college many years ago about the time Michelangelo graduated. I’m writing this blog to give all possible publicity to Mrs Summerhouse’s summer exhibition – one of her retirement activities, the one that rivals the Royal Academy’s summer exhibition. It’s not been going quite as long but this is the fourth year that she has shown her work at one of our local (to the vineyard) tourist spots otherwise known as How Stean Gorge (www.howstean.co.uk). It’s basically an outdoor activity and camping site but the owner also likes to have some art around the café and so each month a different artist gets the opportunity to exhibit their work – for free. Stan, for that is the owner’s name, will not take any money for use of his walls and he’s a Yorkshire man at that.

So for the next month Mrs Summerhouse is showing 25 of her pictures. There is a mixture of prints and originals, of pastels, water colours and a novel approach to landscapes, black felt tip on canvas. All very reasonable priced of course. So no more talk in this blog, just take a look at the small selection below (not necessarily in the exhibition but by way of examples, the first and last are). If you want to see all 25 then all you need to do is pay a visit to How Stean gorge near Lofthouse, North Yorkshire. It’s a lovely spot.
