Just when things seemed to be going quite well, at least by our standards, out of the blue, literally, came disaster. This in the form of the birds. In this case it was the early bird that got the (unripe) grape. Pretty much cleared us out and this was quite dispiriting. Still it makes for an interesting chapter in the history of our vineyard.
