Something very different this month from the Mrs Summerhouse collection. Not a picture she was contracted (by me) to produce each month, she didn’t like the one she created and so it’s not going out. This is a picture she produced a couple or more years ago, hence the title of the blog is a bit misleading as she wasn’t retired then. However. They were inspired by the artist Yayoi Kusama, an incredibly talented Japanese artist whose exhibition we saw some time ago when we were in Wellington, New Zealand. The first image was directly influenced by Yayoi’s abstract art work and is an imaginary landscape. The second one is the same technique of lines on canvas but this time applied to a local view of the road to Grassington out of Pateley Bridge. I think it demonstrates Mrs SH’s versatility as an artist very well.
