On the road from Pateley Bridge to Grassington in fact and one of my favourite views. It’s the view of the hills from a little village called Hebden. I’ve painted it before at different times of year. This one, as you might guess, is an early autumn picture with a slightly purple tint of the heather and even more artistic licence. Pastel on canvas again.

It’s 40 years since I saw the Yorkshire Dales, but I’ll never forget the moody, heather imbued scenes! You captured it!
